WOW! I'm always amazed at the wonderful responses I get on this board. Every one's emails were so helpful and I've learned a lot! I got so many emails I found it hard to respond to every one but thank you to every one who shared their stories and advice with me.

I recently re-connected with this friend. We were BEST friends in grade school before I moved away and we lost touch. It's amazing we both have celiac. I want to support her and help her learn how to live a happy, healthy GF lifestyle and have decided for that to happen I need to take my time and not push to hard. She has been through so much in the past 10 years that I understand her reluctance/frustration with trying to learn a new way of life.

* 15 people previously dignosed with Fibromyalgia experienced complete healing after going GF
* 4 people saw no improvements after going GF
* 6 people saw some improvements after going GF

General Advice:
* EVERYONE with a dx of fibermyalgia should be tested for Celiac

* Untreated CD leads to Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma about 10% of the time.

* have a really THOROUGH thyroid panel run.  The latter because small thyroid problems really complicate fibromyalgia -- and of course we do know that there is a
high incidence of autoimmune thyroid disease in celiac.  The thyroid tests
that need to be run are Free T3, Free T4, and thyroid antibody panel.  TSH
test alone as a screen is relatively unhelpful, as TSH is a pituitary
hormone & the HPA axis can be off in fibro.

* In addition to being GF, getting my thyroid treated with Armour has been the best, in addition to Natural progesterone. See stopthethyroidmadness.com.

* In addition to being GF investigate additional food allergies

General & Columbus, OH area GF support information:
* If your friend is a bit north of Columbus, she can come to Mansfield and our support group.  We have had a couple of Columbus people who do enjoy our group more.    We meet the first Tues. of each month.  Mansfield is about one hour north of Columbus.

* The support group in Columbus operates out of Children's Hospital, but it is for ALL Celiacs.  They put on a wonderful day-long conference in November, usually the first Saturday.  There are presentations and vendors and a usually very good gluten-free lunch.  I strongly encourage you or your friend to contact this group for more info.  I wish I lived in Columbus - the stores and restaurants are very accommodating to gluten-free needs. www.glutenfreegang.org

Thank you again to every one. This information in invaluable and would take weeks to research on my own.
