Hello, everyone,I am wondering if any of you have tried this new GF bread sold at Costco.  It is called Promise.  The package says it is made in Ireland and distributed by Promise Gluten Free in Skokie, IL.  It comes in a double loaf package.  The top of the package says the bread is soy free, high in fiber, low fat, dairy free, wheat free, nut free and gluten free.
I tried this bread on Sunday for the first time.  I immediately got home and made a sandwich with it.  It is moist enough to have a sandwich without the need to toast the bread, which I was excited about.  However, an hour and a half later, I became suddenly nauseous.  About a half hour after that, I began to vomit.  It is 3 days later, and I am still have some stomach distress.  Not quite exactly like a gluten reaction but similar, for me.
Of course, I am not ruling out the possibility that the lunch meat I had on the sandwich could have been bad or that I possibly could have caught some sort of stomach bug. Although I am never suseptible to stomach bugs and only had the stomach flu once in my life.    But if it were the meat that was bad, I question whether I'd be still having this sore tummy 3 days later.  There is a long list of ingredients in this bread also, listing some things I can't even pronounce, so it's also possible I could be reacting to something in the bread as well.
I am now afraid to eat this bread ever again and probably will never have that same brand of lunch meat either.  But I'm curious if any of you have tried this bread and what your situation was after you ate it.
I will summarize. Happy holidays to you all!Denise
