A posting for information on deduction of gluten free foods on your taxes.

Such a deduction needs to be put under medical expenses. Anyone using this deductions needs to have on hand a letter from their physician stating the special diet is required. Additionally, all reciepts for sucsh products must be kept. After totally the expenses you must substract what it would cost for a gluten containing Product.

Example: If you have spend $4 for a loaf of gluten free bread you must substract what it would cost for a loaf of regular bread such a "Wonder Bread." Such a loaf may cost $1 substract the cost and you can declare the difference. If your other medical expenses not covered by insurance you would count this as well. As it turns out. the allowance for medical expenses is based on your total income. After all this calculation you might get a deduction for such expenses or maybe such a head ache from adding all the reciepts.

Wishes for good health and blessings
