The new Senate bill is:  S. 2499

The bill has been referred the the Senate Health
Education, Labor and Pensions Committee.  Senator
Ted Kennedy is Chairman. Hearings have not yet been
scheduled on the bill.

With Kennedy as Chairman of the Committee, it is
far more likely that the Senate will take action first.

The House bill, HR 4704, has been referred to the House
Energy and Commerce Committee. Will go to the Health
Subcommittee.  No hearings are scheduled as yet.
