Though this article about a 2007 published book doesn't deal with celiac
disease or gluten intolerance, I thought that it was, nevertheless,
appropriate for anyone with a chronic illness - and especially those with
more than one chronic illness, such as those of us with autoimmune diseases.

Some people cheat on the GF diet and some people deny that they have it. For
some of us who are as faithful to the diet as we can be, there are times
that it doesn't seem worth the effort (note that I said, "For some of us..."
- I'm not looking for a debate or discussion about this point). Some
physicians understand how difficult the GF diet is, but no one understands
it in the context of our own individual lives.

Most of us try to put a positive spin on celiac disease and the GF diet.
This article points out what is, perhaps, never said about any  chronic
illness and how failing to acknowledge the difficulties patients experience
may be to their detriment.
