I received a few responses regarding inns and restaurants in these 3 towns:

In Rockport (Pigeon Cove), the Emerson Inn is very nice.

In downtown Gloucester, great Thai restaurant called "Thai Choice". Many,
many selections!
In Gloucester, gluten-free fish chowder (not the clam chowder!) at The
Causeway (on Rte 133, directly across from "The Gull" restaurant and "Yankee
Fleet" Whale Watch). Their broiled fish is also gluten-free.
In downtown Gloucester, Passports restaurant is very accomodating. Carrot
Bisque is gf; and so is their chicken salad. They also have fresh fish
daily.
In downtown Gloucester (waterside), Mc'Ts has a terrific tuna-and-swordfish
kabob that is gf. Their coleslaw is also gf, but their chowders are not gf.
In Essex (~5 miles from Gloucester on Route 133), Farnham's has gluten-free
clam chowder and gluten-free deep fried clams, onion rings, etc. (corn-based
batter).
In Peabody/Danvers (on the way to Gloucester if taking Route 128), there's
Legal Seafood (take exit for Rte 114 towards Middleton). Fresh fish &
seafood daily. Their chowder is not gf but their gazpacho is (& it's
terrific).

Rob Roy's lobster pound on the bear skin neck and get three lobster for like
28 dollars cooked and served to you out back great stuff.

I was also told that legal Seafoods and P.F.Changs are good. They are two
chains in MA.
