Hi to everyone on this List!

I e-mailed about a month ago about some upper middle abdominal pain that I was having and asked if it could be from a gluten reaction.  I had no V or D, but I have never had vomitting ever, and only had a couple of reactions period since my diagnosis, one of which did involve D.  Most of you answered back and told me to check my gallbladder, because that is where gallbladder pain can be located.  The pain was terrible the first week, with slight upper abdomen bloating, then the pain got better and eased up for the last 3 weeks, but is still there mildly.

So long story short, I had blood work done.  All of the celiac panel was negative.  My gallbladder, liver and pancreas bloodwork came back normal.  Today I had an endoscopy.  The GI doc said he found no reason for the abdominal pain, no ulcer, no gastritis.  Ultrasound didn't show a gallbladder problem.  He said my small bowel was greatly improved since diagnosis, when it was scalloped and rippled.  Now it is no long scalloped, but he said the small bowel still doesn't look normal.  My question is:  I have been diagnosed and on a strict Gf diet for 2 1/2 years now.  I was diagnosed at the age of 51 so I probably had CD most of my life and never knew it.  Although there is a lot of improvement, it still doesn't look normal (to his naked eye, biopsy results will come on Monday.)  Is it possible that since I had so much damage and for so long that I will never heal all the way?  Everything I read seems to say Gf diet is the cure-all and your
body will heal.  But mine didn't.  Does anyone have any input about this?

Thanks in advance for your knowledge.  This List is so very helpful.  I am so grateful to have this outlet to get information!  My doctor is very helpful but his knowledge is limited.
Denise
