When I read the post about wasabi containing wheat, I became concerned. I
researched online and at Whole Foods and My Organic Market (a Washington,
DC-area reasonably-priced health food chain). I found wasabi paste and
wasabi powder and none that I saw listed wheat in the list of ingredients.
A carry-out Whole Foods sushi selection spelled out the ingredients listed
in their wasabi - no wheat. Some of the wasabi paste and wasabi powder at
the stores had corn flour or corn starch in them. I found no wheat and no
suspicious ingredients. I saw nothing online in recipes or ingredient
listings about wheat. Before ordering sushi in a restaurant again, I will
ask the restaurant to tell me the ingredients in their wasabi.

Let's hear more from those who have found wheat in wasabi, please. Thank
you,

Lynn in Cheverly, MD
