I keep being amazed at where I find the cross contamination. I am from an
area where we have lots of Mexican resturants. Anyway as I was eating the
complimentary chips, my mind was working overtime and thought that these are
deep fried here in the resturant. So I asked the waiter if they were fried in
the same oil as their flour tortillas. Bingo!! The answer was yes as are the
taco shells etc. So I asked for tacos with warmed plain tortillas and warmed
tortillas to eat in place of chips. Enchilada sauce is flour based(which I
knew) but burrito sauce is usually tomato based. Even with my extensive
nutrition background I just keep on learning. Reesa
