Well, the seders on the east coast are over and I thought I'd just share with you. This is the first time I bought the gf oat matzah. My local supermarket carried it, so I figured, I'd take advantage of the convenience. At $29.99 a box, I was hoping it would be edible. I can't say that it is.

If you are very religious and need shmurah matzah and gluten-free, it will do, but honestly, I wasn't sure if I was eating the paper towel I laid it on or the matzah itself. (I really miss authentic, real matzah!)

I did crumble some of it in my chicken soup, as a substitute for farfel...Eat it fast, it dissolves.

I don't think it will hold up to making matzah brei. I think it will fall apart in the egg.

Live and learn. (And I optimistically bought two boxes!) I don't think I'll buy it next year. At $30 a box, it should taste better than cardboard. It doesn't compare at all to regular matzah. Please note that shmurah matzah, gf or otherwise, is expensive, but at least we should be able to eat it without thinking we picked up the paper towel!
