Dear Friends:
Several weeks ago I posted a question regarding the status of Pimm's
#1--a wonderful, summertime alcoholic mix. My web search revealed that
Pimm's #1 is gin-based. The other ingredients, however, remain a
closely guarded secret. I've been slow to summarize, hoping that one of
you could provide some hard information on the subject. I'm sorry to
report to those who have been waiting patiently for the "all clear"
that no such information has been forthcoming. One list mate did say
that she recently toasted the regatta at Henley every day with a Pimm's
Cup and suffered no ill effects. But nothing factual showed up in my
mailbox. A few of you share my greatest misgiving which is the source
of Pimm's caramel coloring. I have tried to contact the company in
London without success. If I have any luck with the US distributor I
will pass it on. Thanks to one list mate who offered an alternative
spritzer suggestion for summer refreshment.
Cheers!
Judith
