Hi -
It has been about 7 weeks since my 9yr old daughter was diagnosed with celiac
disease (both biopsy and blood test)...we have really taken the gluten free
diet seriously yet her primary symptoms, chronic nausea and constipation,
haven't responded as we had hoped/expected. So much of what I've read suggests
that people feel better in a matter of days or maybe a week or 2...I'm just not
seeing a change and I'm not sure how to interpret this. The only thing that
has helped the nausea is the antibiotic flagil...she was on it in the spring,
before the CD diagnosis and it helped significantly...within 3 weeks of being
off the meds, the symptoms returned...she went on it again and, again, it
helped...does it make sense that an antibiotic would help but eliminating gluten
would not? Is it possible that she doesn't really have CD? Or, is it
possible that she actually has something else going on and we found CD by accident
but that it wasn't the CD that had been causing her symptoms? Any thoughts or
experiences to help make sense out of this would be so greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
