Hi listmates,
Last week I wrote the listserv asking if anyone experienced a lip
reaction to kefir - I had red, swollen, tender lips that blistered and
then peeled for days. Many people responded that it was possibly an
allergic reaction to the kefir. I stopped drinking it and my lips
improved.

Now, a week later I have the same problem again ... this time without
the kefir! Last night I made stir fry with San-J wheat-free soy
sauce, which I now understand may be heavily cross-contaminated.

My question is: could this lip problem be a gluten reaction? My
reactions used to be bathroom problems, tummy pain, fuzzy brain, and
intense sleepiness. Now I no longer have tummy pain when I have an
accidental ingestion, but I do still have the bathroom issues, the
fuzzy brain, and the intense sleepiness. I am experiencing all of
those problems now ... with the addition of the swollen, blistering
lips.

Could my gluten reaction possibly change like that? I have never
before experienced problems with my lips but in the past 1.5 months I
have had lots of lips swelling and blistering ... which I had
attributed to the kefir.

Can anyone help make sense of this? Am I changing my reaction? Am I
more sensitive now and reacting to the San-J when I have not
previously reacted to it? Also, how do you all do with La Choy soy
sauce? I use soy sauce often and may need to stop using San-J.
Thanks! Lori
