Has anyone had experience with brain MRI looking specifically for damage
to the white matter due to antibodies or anything else conceivably
associated with auto-immune disease and/or sprue?

Symptoms of numbness in extremities seems to be defying ordinary
diagnosis (your comments and suggestions have been extremely helpful in
navigating those waters) and investigation is now on this other tack...
