Re the gluten-free recipes in Family Circle Magazine, Apr. 1 edition.

Just be careful. There is no article, no announcement of how many recipes, and the recipes, which are juxtaposed right next to non-gf ones, are not identified as gluten-free. It took me a few minutes to figure out where the gf recipes ended and the non-gf recipes began, and I'm no newbie. I'm worried (I always worry!) that a newbie could get confused...and sick.

Also, maybe I'm just in a negative frame of mind this evening, but the article is called Going Against the Grain....well, really no article, just recipes, and it's "by Michael Tyrell."

I just wonder if there is a copyright infringement upon Phyllis Pott's cookbook from 1992, by the same name. I kept looking for an article or something to give her credit. I happen to love her book and have absolutely worn out the page of her cornbread/muffins reciipe. But I didn't see her name in the magazine anywhere.

Don't beat me up. I do think it's terrific that mainstream magazines are picking up on gluten-free. And I guess it means we've reached new heights if no explanation of gluten-free was necessary and the general public is just supposed to know what gluten-free means. That's real progress. And I'll probably write to Family Circle to thank them. But hey, a little more clarity and credit where credit is due, would have been nice.

Just my thoughts.

Lin
