Good afternoon listmates,
I thought I'd send out a "review" of the Asian Chicken Helper by Betty Crocker. I live in Minnesota (where General Mills i sheadquartered) and last week when I was at my local Cub store, I noticed boxes of the Gluten Free Asian Chicken Helper (chicken fried rice) with all the other regular Hamburger Helper so I bought a couple of boxes.
I made it last night and have to say that I very much enjoyed it (as did my husband and daughter who are not GF). I did have two issues with it. The first is that I thought it was quite salty. The second is that it didn't make as much as I would have liked. There are three of us and we each had only a small bowl full which left me with no leftovers.
When I make it again, I will add extra brown rice to it which will hopefully cut some of the salt taste and make a bigger portion for leftovers.
All in all, I thought it was an excellent buy at $1.59/box plus easy and convenient to make not to mention very tasty.
Lisa
