I received no fewer than 14 replies to my posted question regarding my
enlarged blood cells. Thank you all very much. It certainly demonstrates the
value of the celiac net.

One advised me to go to www paleodiet.com for nutritional information and
also suggested some books to read. Well, noted.

Some were extremely informative and enlighten me as to the appropriate
questions to put to my Doctor when I see her this week.

I gained a great deal of knowledge from all of the replies. Some of which
were very detailed and technical, to the extent that whilst I learned a great
deal from their explanations, I do not feel in anyway competent to summarize
such specialist knowledge. Neither do I feel I should divulge the 'e' mail
addresses of those respondents without their permission. However, I'm
confident that a similar question to the list will be answered by the same
informative people!

Several also referred me to an explanation as contained in a medical
encyclopedia. These replies were fortunately posted to the LIST as a whole so
nothing further can be gained by repeating this information. These replies
were extremely informative and will assist me when I see my Doctor this week.

However, one letter suggested it could be a problem related to my eyes, as
was the case in her case.

The greater number of responses emphasized the fact that celiac patients
often have a chronic problem with deficiencies in folic acid and vitamin B12.

They stated that enlarged blood cells are often a symptom of these
deficiencies.

A possible solution to the absorption problem would be to take shots.

Hopefully, this will eliminate the problem for me.

Thank you all for your time and trouble.

Patricia.
