I am responding to the whole list (but in particular to the original
person who posed a very interesting question )which helps confirm one of
my theories. Her daughter has no symptoms of cd and yet a biopsy shows
severe damage and flat villi.
My theory is that as the disease progresses it damages the intestine bit
by bit instead of the whole degeneration. Therefore depending on where
the biopsy tissue is drawn from, the results can vary.

I think the child in question here will eventually have the normal
symptoms of cd but at this point enough of the intestine is undamaged that
absorbtion is still taking place.

If there is any further comments on this I will summarize
