Hi All:

Anyone know if McCann's "Instant Oatmeal" (comes in regular, apple spice and
maple brown sugar) are gluten free?

Just got off the phone with a snarky customer service rep. named Jessica who
told me McCann instant oatmeal contains gluten...but refused to tell me
which ingredients were made from gluten containing products. None of the
listed ingredients on the package specified gluten, although "natural apple
flavors" seemed suspicious. She also did not seem familiar with what gluten
was, and came across as making up her answer in order to reduce her call
resolution time.

"Crystal" called me back to explain that oats are not GF due to cross
contamination, but did not address my original question about the apple
spice and maple brown sugar varieties.

Has anyone spoken to someone knowledgeable at Sturm Foods about this
product? I typically carry a package of "Gluten-Freeda" brand with me when I
travel, but would like a back-up product that I can purchase at most chains
if necessary.

Thanks,
