Dear Listmates -

I used to go to the local Thai restaurant, and have them make a veggie & chicken stir fry for me in a clean (washed and rinsed) wok, with just (fresh) oil in the wok, no soy sauce. Otherwise, they would put Kikkoman in the wok.

They had Golden Mountain soy sauce in the back, but I prefer to add my own soy sauce when the food is served, since I have to limit salt consumption.

I haven't been there in awhile, and an acquaintance said she checked the bottle of Golden Mountain soy sauce when she went there and they now are buying Golden Mountain soy sauce that contains wheat flour.

She is bringing a gluten-free brand with her when she goes there to eat, having them cook her food without soy sauce, then adding her own gluten-free soy sauce or Bragg's amino acids when the food is served. She just takes along a small bottle.

I'll have to do the same. I can't count on the ingredients in Golden Mountain to be the same, obviously.

Vicki in Illinois
