Here is a notice that I post on different BBs on Prodigy to help
people find us. If you have access to *P or will have in the near
future, this is how to find us:

To anyone looking for Gluten Free recipes and support, we invite you
to join us over on the Medical Support BB/Other topic. We usually
have two subjects running: Celiac Disease and Celiac Recipes. The
first subject is where we discuss the disease and offer support to
others recently diagnosed. In the second subject, we share
gluten-free recipes.

For anyone who might ask "what is gluten free?" ...most people on
this restricted diet have been diagnosed as having Celiac Sprue.
Others have a specific skin rash called Dermatitis Herpetiformis
(DH). People suffering from either condition cannot ingest the
gluten found in wheat, rye, barley or oats. In the Celiac, a product
in the gluten destroys the villi in the small intestine, causing
malabsorption and severe intestinal problems. Those with DH suffer a
severe itchy skin rash which appears predominantly on the elbows and
knees. People who, for other reasons, are on a wheat-free diet, can
eat gluten-free. Celiacs are restricted to several flours including
but not limited to rice, corn, potato, soy, bean and tapioca flour,
so we spend our time being creative!

I am the wife of a Celiac. You're welcome to join us! On Prodigy,
Jump: Medical Support BB and go to Other topic. Backdate a few weeks
and look for Celiac Disease or Celiac Recipes.
