Hi Listserv Members:

In September I posted to the list because I had been on the gluten-free
diet for three years and now my cholesterol kept going up. My total
cholesterol was 230. Normal is below 200. My LDL was 134. Normal is below 100. I
just got retested and my total cholesterol is 177 and my LDL is 78.

I just want to thank everyone for their suggestions what to do. I
decided to try the red yeast rice tablets. The brand I used was "Now" 1200 mg. I
took one tablet in the morning and one tablet at night with meals. They're
gluten-free. Red yeast rice tablets work! I got them in a health food store.

The gluten-free diet works also. All my blood tests for celiac disease
came back negative for celiac disease due to strict adherence to the
gluten-free diet. When I was diagnosed three and a half years ago all my blood tests
were way out of range. I finally got to the right range in my blood tests my
gastroenterologist wanted me to be.

Hope this helps anyone struggling to get their cholesterol down and their
blood tests in the right range. Keep trying, sooner or later you'll get to your
goal.

Celiac Listserv member,

Selma
