I just got off the phone with a representative from Kitchen Aid.  I
am looking for a heavy duty mixer to use on gluten free flours.
Macy's is selling a Ultra Plus hand mixer (without the bowl) for
$50.00 but I could not find the watts on the machine to see if it is
strong enough.  When I called I was told that Kitchen Aid does not
recommend any of the mixers to be used on gluten free flours.  They
do not feel they are strong enough.  The machine I asked about is not
rated by watts but by rpm's which could be anywhere from 350-1100.
 
Can anyone recommend a good heavy duty hand mixer?
