Just a quick up-date on the GF symbol.  This is no longer
allowed to be used on foods by the Coeliac Society of the
UK, so don't bother to look for it in the UK.  It used to
be used a great deal.  Quite a lot of supermarkets mark
their food with the words "GLUTEN FREE". Tescos are
especially good on this.

Sainsbury's are a very good supermarket usually for
coeliacs.  They are helpful and will rush a GF list to you
if asked.  There is considerable variation depending on the
manager.  Here in Bristol we've moved from one Sainsbury's
which was relatively unhelpful to another one which is very
helpful - but a different manager!
