* I also take Cortef and have verified that it is
indeed ok for us and completely Gluten free. I called
the manufacturer direct and obtained
the verification and ingredients.

* Try asking your pharmacist to look at the package
insert. The labeling for prescription drugs is much
more detailed than for over-the counter and should
list all excipients. You could probably get the
company phone from the insert as well.
* I have contacted the local pharmacy--they in turn
contact the manufacting co.
* Try asking your druggist to put only GF meds in your
files.
* my doctors put gluten free on all prescriptions.
* My book says to call Stokes Pharmacy at
1800-754-5222 for prescription drug questions
* What I usually do is get on the Internet and try to
find the drug manufacturer's website..as there is
usually a way to contact them listed (either an email
address or phone #). Also, you could call your
library (reference desk) and aslk the librarian to
find the phone # for the manufacturer. Call then and
ask for the Customer Service or Product Information
dept.
* In my experience, the best way to gather info from
Pharmaceutical companies is to call them and ask for
their legal department. The lawyers always know, even
when the lab isn't sure.
