For those with children able to attend a summer camp, here are the
details on a recent update to our reference file, Calendar. This file
is used to make available information on Celiac conferences and events
around the world. Technical problems will preclude an update to the
WWW edition of the file this week.

Please direct all inquires to GIG as I am not involved in the camp.

GIG will once again attend YMCA Camp Orkila on Orcas Island in the
beautiful Washington San Juan Islands. This is camp session #5,
August 7 - 18, 1998.

Camp Orkila offers a general camping experience to campers of all ages,
as well as specialized programs for teens. The teen adventures include
Kayakers, Pioneer camp, Horsemaster, In-Venture '98 (includes island
trips and high adventure ropes and climbing wall), Mariners, Rock
Climbers, Mountain Bike Expedition, and Trailblazers.

GIG staff will be at camp to provide gluten free meals to all of our
campers. They are able to handle other dietary restrictions as well -
such as diabetes and lactose intolerance.

Camping fees for the in-camp program, for grades 3-9, are $540.00.

The Seattle Rotary Service Foundation has made available $1,000.00.
GIG's Board of Trustees will use the funds from Rotary to offset the
cost of camp $100.00 for the first 10 registration received in the GIG
office. GIG will than offset the registration for the next 10 campers
by $100.00

After campers arrive in Seattle, the Board will assist with travel and
housing arrangements for any children needing it before or after camp.
The GIG office can coordinate these arrangements.

This is a very popular camp. Act now to reserve a spot.
