The Celiac Disease Center at Columbia University
Peter H.R. Green, M.D., Director

announces its second annual symposium

PATIENT EDUCATION DAY 2003

Saturday, November 15, 2003
8:00am -3:30 pm

Columbia University Medical Center
New York, NY

The Celiac Disease Center at Columbia University invites the celiac
community--patients, their families and friends--and interested medical
practitioners and health care professionals to join us for a full day
symposium of presentations by world renowned experts on the most
current research and developments in the field of celiac disease.

Patient Education Day 2003 will also provide the celiac community
with the opportunity to take part in question and answer discussions with
these experts, as well as meet one another and share information
as a community.

Gluten-free vendors will be present and gluten-free breakfast, lunch
and refreshments will served.

Patient Education Day 2003 follows the Celiac Disease Center's
successful CME Conference, Celiac Disease: A Comprehensive
Review, which was held on June 14, 2003 at Columbia-Presbyterian
Medical Center in New York.

Over 200 dietitians, nurse practitioners, health care professionals,
support groups leaders and other interested individuals attended the
full day course and heard presentations from renowned experts and
distinguished Columbia University faculty with an expertise in celiac disease.

Those who participated gained practical knowledge on current
labeling standards, patient management strategies, along with
recent research advances in celiac disease, which included
diagnosis, prevalence, dietary guidelines and quality of life issues.

Complete details, program and registration infomation
for Patient Education Day 2003 to be announced.
