Thank you for the responses I received regarding any connection between
celiac disease and an intolerance to grapes and products made with or
from grapes and/or grape juice (wine, jellies, juices, raisins, etc.).
At least now I know I am not the only one who reacts to grapes and that
it is actually common among non-celiacs as well as celiacs.

A couple of people suggested it was the sulfites used to
process/preserve grapes that was actually causing a reaction, not
actually the grapes themselves (except I have never been able to eat
grapes straight from the supermarket either, so my question to THAT
would be when exactly do grapes first become contaminated from
sulfites?)

Another woman said that it is the skin of the grapes that some people
find difficult to digest^×just like the skin on some beans. And yet
another woman said that raisins make her nose run and is unable to
digest them.

I hope this is helpful to all.
