Hi all,

I'm new here, and well, new to this whole lifestyle change thing. I live in
Gurnee/Grayslake Illinois and would be interested in knowing of local
support as well. Thanks.

My brother was diagnosed with Celiac Sprue in July of this year. I had
blood tests run two weeks ago that gave a "strong positive" on both that
were run. Sorry, I'm not sure exactly which ones they are right now. I'm
still in the "tad overwhelmed" stage. I see a GI doc on 10 Dec, and my
primary is laying odds that the GI doc will order a biopsy. I've been
reading that to make sure the tests come out the way intended that I should
*not* change my diet yet, so I'm not fully changing it, but I am trying out
some things that appeal to me so that I am not thrown into the world of
"can't eat it" on a split second's notice.

I'm liking the information sharing that I see on this list. And I'm happy
to be here - well, given the situation that is. ;-)
