Hello all,

Finally getting tired of missing German sausages, I tracked down SAAG'S meats
in California, whose prepackaged products I have seen in both Washington and
here in Hawaii. Here are the responses received 11/13 and 11/14/2000. I did
not inquire further into the cross-contamination issue, but feel free to do
so. (Saag's meats www.saags.com or 1-800-352-7224)

"Thank you for you message about if we use any grains in our products. As
this issue has come up before, we have tried to remove it from all of our
products. We currently use grains as a protein carrier in only two products
which are British Bangers that contains bread crumbs and Virginia Baked Ham
which is in the coating.

We appreciate your business and support. I hope you husband will enjoy the
Bockwurst as much as we do.

Thank You

 and a follow up:

"Thank you again for your note about grains/glutens. The natural flavoring
and spices we use, do not include any malt and/or barley flavoring. I'm sure
your husband will enjoy our sausage items.

Please sent us your address as we would like to include you on our mailing
list for new information and cents off coupons we send out from time to time.

Thank You
Andy Burns
