We will be discussing presentations from the National Institute of
Health(NIH) Celiac Disease Consensus Development Conference held June
28-30,
2004 in Bethesda Maryland.

Don't let the long, formal name scare you away. The NIH conference
presented the most up-to-date information on celiac disease by 20 plus
experts in the field. It is hoped from this conference that an
education campaign for health professionals can improve the diagnosis
rate of cd. Right now about 40,000 people are diagnosed with cd in this
country which is a mere 1.8 % of all those predicted to have cd.
