I was diagnosed with CD back in 1988 and gradually "fell by the wayside"
from about 1992 as the symptoms disappeared (or so I thought). After a
particularly nasty bout of diarrhoea in October this year I underwent the
full range of tests (blood, endoscopy and colonoscopy) and guess what - once
a celiac always a celiac.

To cut a long story short, after a prolonged reprimand from my GI (I
deserved it) I have committed to a 100% (not 80%) GF regime but have never
felt worse - tired, lethargic etc. Does the body, after prolonged abuse go
through a detoxification period whilst adjusting to a GF (and hence no
abuse) diet.

Just a thought, but any other thoughts or experiences would be appreciated.

Regards and a Merry Xmas to all
