Hello:

I just found out my brother in law has been diagnosed with ulcerative colitis/crohn's. he says his only symptom is horrible stomach ache's. A colonoscopy was done and that is what he was dx'ed with. When he was describing his symptoms they seemed to be similar to some of mine before I found out I had celiac. I was wondering if there is a connection between the two, if there is any one who has been dx'ed with both and how a GF diet has/has not helped. When I suggested looking closely at his diet my brother in law said "the doctor said changing my diet won't do anything and to just eat small meals." I'm most concerned with my nieces who are carriers for the celiac gene and if UC/Crohn's is genetic.

Thank you!
Amy
