My first summary was somehow garbled in transmission, so I am re-sending it again:

I received very few responses. One suggested Whole Foods, but there was none. Another

suggestion came after we had returned. That was for Carlos O'Kellys which did not have a

specific GF menu, but was able to provide a gf chicken salad.

We found that the Red Lobster was very accommodating. While they do not have a GF menu,

the manager was most gracious in helping us with the menu. The result was Fresh Catch of the Day

......broiled salmon, with steamed broccoli and baked potato. For the salad, we brought one of the

extra salad dressing packets which we had purchased earlier at McDonald's. The hotel

had a microwave available, so we were able to heat deli food we purchased at Shop & Save, while our

daughter who is the celiac, was satisfied with one of Amy's Frozen entrees and a McDonald's salad

and strawberry sundae.

At the new Springfield Museum, she was able to have the homemade chili. When we asked about

it, the cook came out and told us the ingredients. He was very knowledgeable about gluten.

When we went through Bloomington, we had stopped at a Kroger store which had a huge selection of

gf foods and ............we even found Ener-G Bread on the shelf! That, plus Buddig packaged meat

made for good picnic lunches along with fruit and chips.

Ten years ago when she was diagnosed, this would have been much more of a challenge. We are

thankful that times have changed and so many more choices are available.

The trip turned out great and the Museum was awesome!!!
