My wife and I will be in El Paso at end of January for a week, the
first time in 5 years & first time since I was diagnosed, and I posted
an inquiry on Jan 6th welcoming any suggestions for GF dining in El
Paso and nearby New Mexico & in Midland, Texas.

So far two people have replied to my original post. Their info is
summarized below. If anyone missed the original post but has
additional information on other restaurants, If anyone else has
additional info, I will post an updated summary. -- No information
received yet about Midland (or Odessa) TX area.

Thanks to Amy and Sue for their info.

Sue -- mentioned the Sun Harvest health food store in El Paso & The
Mountain View Market in Las Cruces, NM. Her favorite place to eat is
El Paisano in La Mesilla - for its "naked burritos." She also
recommends the green enchiladas at La Posta in Las Cruces - "just be
sure to get whole beans without rice".
She referred to Texas Roadhouse in EP & says they will e-mail their GF
menu(!) There's an Outback Steakhouse in Las Cruces "same as all
over".
Sue says the two Great American Land & Cattle Company beef houses in EP
are safe & highly recommends the Cattleman's Steakhouse at Indian
Cliffs in Fabens ("especially at sunset").

Amy -- visits EP often and prefers quality restaurants with fine
cuisine to going to chain restaurants that have GF menus. She says she
has no problems with explaining her GF requirements and getting
gourmet, safe meals. She recommends the following: (1) Avilas, (2)
the Indian restaurant on Mesa Avenue (name not given), (3) Tamales at
the Little Diner, (4) Omelets at The Village Inn, (5) salads & nachos
at The Greenery in the Sunland Park Mall. Amy doesn't like Taco
Cabana ("awful food") & is not a fan of the several Jaxson's
restaurants. She appended a review from a food magazine of a long list
of EP restaurants that got great reviews, but she did not describe or
rate her GF experiences at any of them, so I am not including them in
this summary.

I'll post a review of our experiences when we get back from our trip.
Marshall
