Oct. 1 at the Olde Hickory Council Bosy Scouts of America, 6600 Silas Creek Parkway, Winston-Salem,NC 27106, from 10 AM-2PM
Dr. Ivor Hill, Wake Forest University Medical School, will be available to answer questions about celiac disease. He will bring us the latest information about celiac disease research findings.
Meanwhile, Pat Fogarty, RD, with a child who has celiac disease will lead a nutrition activity for the children. Pat lead a group in our GIG workshop for kids at the national conference in Winston-Salem.
Table discussions will follow led by support group members who will bring resource materials used to read labels, to contact food manufacturers, to travel and dine in restaurants gluten-free. Newly diagnosed folks are encouraged to come with questions.
Bring t-shirts for your child or you if you wear t-shirts to screen under the direction of folks familiar with the screening process. Probably not wise to wear your best clothes if you plan to paint a t-shirt.
Bring a gluten-free dish for the potluck lunch or sign up to bring paper products, beverages. Bring 15 copies of your favorite gluten-free recipes and /or copies of the recipe for the dish you are sharing with the group.
For gluten-free potluck email Grace Johnston.
