Last night I had a unique experience at the North End Cafe, 1058 Charles Street, North Providence, RI (401) 726-4400. This was my first visit since this restaurant came under new ownership. The previous owner had offered a Gluten free Menu as does the new owner but for the first time, after I asked for the Gluten Free Menu, I was asked whether I wanted gluten free bread. This was the first time, since my celiac diagnosis, that I felt like a regular restaurant customer. While the other people at my table had their bread, I also had that choice with GF bread that I could eat safely. I also was told that I could take the Gluten Free Menu with me, a 8x14 inch sheet of paper full of choices from Starters to Pizza Platters to Entrees. The meal was excellent. I hope that those who can, will give this restaurant their business. It is certainly unique in my experience. Maybe you could mention the GF bread option to your local Gluten Free Menu restaurant. It is about time that we were treated as full customers in restaurants. Jim
