Let me help you. Mono- & diglycerides by themself are not derived from
gluten. But frequently, they are coated with flour so they become a
source of contamination.

A lot of people choose not to use extracts like vanilla extract because
the alcohol is suspect. An easy substitute is to get a vanilla bean &
put it in your sugar canister. The flavors of the vanilla will infuse
the sugar.

In May, the subject of Heinz products came up. According to this list,
the vinegar in Heinz Ketchup is derived from corn. Not all Heinz
products are gluten free, but their ketchup seems to be alright.

New members, you've got my unofficial welcome to this group. If you
haven't read the instructions, take a moment to do so. A lot of this
info you can find out for yourself, by using the index to locate a
topic. The index will show the postings on your topic. Using the
instructions, you can call for the logs. Each month is a different log.
Your best use of time is to download the logs, and using a wordprocessing
program, search for a particular word. We seem to be compiling a wealth
of information on topics common to our little "problem."

In other words, I don't know about mustard flour either. But that
doesn't mean we can't find out, either because it's in the logs or
someone has posted a manufacturer's tele number or address.
