When I was rediagnosed with CD in 1988, I wrote to the Mayo Clinic for
information about CD. We subscribed then and now to the Mayo Clinic
Health Letter. In 1988, I was extremely disappointed in what they gave
me in reply to my request.

Now I see the MAYO CLINIC ON DIGESTIVE HEALTH.
    Contents includes chapters on Healthy
Digestion, Gut Feelings, Common Diagnostic
Tests, GERD, Ulcers and Stomach Pain, Irritable
Bowel Syndrome, Crohn's & Ulcerative Colitis,
Celiac Disease, Diverticular Disease, Gallstones,
Pancreatitis, Liver Disease and Cancer. Dr. Joseph
Murray was a contributor to this resource. There
are details (in easy-to-understand language) on how
your digestive system works, factors that can
interfere with its normal functioning, and how you
can prevent digestive problems; signs and
symptoms commonly associated with digestive
problems and the conditions and diseases most
often responsible; and explanations of common
diagnostic procedures that doctors use in helping to
identify the causes of digestive problems.

ISBN #1-893005-04-6; Cost is $14.95 plus
shipping. Available on Mayo Clinic web site at:
www.MayoClinic.com . For faster service, call

I have no commercial interest in this book. I am just glad that the
Mayo Clinic is "up to speed" on Celiac Disease, thanks in no small part
(I imagine) to Dr. Joseph Murray and probably Dr. Shaffner, originally a
Medical Advisor for the Chicago celiac support group. -- Janet in
