I received several answers to my question:
2 people wrote that they often had gluten problems with TJ's products and would not trust them ( "Ilove Trader Joe's, but I have certainly had reactions to products that have the wheat disclaimer on them. In particular, if manufactured on EQUIPMENT with wheat, it is almost a sure bet I will react.  If in the same FACILITY with wheat, I'll often try it to see -- and sometimes I'm OK and sometimes I'm not.") - The package states that almonds are packaged in the same facility as wheat.
1 person consumes regularly all kinds of nuts (although not the almond meal) had never had problems with it.
1 person (sensitive celiac) uses the ground almonds since several years and never had problems with them.
2 persons recommended grinding almonds myself in a food processor.
So I guess the answer to my question is "may be".
Thanks for all the replies!!
Christine
