I had the listmembers if, according to their personal experiences, a
relationship could be made between gestational diabetes and
ADHD/autistic spectrum disorders. The results were very interesting.

Overwhelming, I heard from 10 families with ADHD chiildren in which
gestational diabetes was not an issue. Interestingly, three other
families had situations in which Mom had gestational diabetes and a
child with ADHD, but the affected child was not born of the pregnancy
with complications. I only heard from 2 other Moms who had gestational
diabetes and an ADHD child borne of that pregnancy.

Not a scientific study, but still interesting. If you'd like to
continue this discussion, we could take a poll on the following: I had
read a 'net article that linked sulfation problems to autism issues.
Sulfation is how the body reduces metabolic by-products down to
substances that are easily disposed. One of the signs of a sulfation
problem was mentioned as migraine headaches. So, let's take the next
poll....which way would the numbers go? Are there a higher number of
ADHD/ADD/ASD children born to moms with migraines?
