As I wrote in a previous post, I will be attending Holy Cross in the fall.
This is the first time I will be on my own eating gf- so I need all the
advice I can get! Have any of you had experience eating gf in dorms? It would be
wonderful if you felt like sharing your experiences with me. I am meeting
with the director of dining services at Holy Cross next week when I go for
orientation- any suggestions as to what information I can give to her? Does
anyone know of a good printout about general celiac and gluten-free diet info?
I am especially concerned about the food preparation and explaining
cross-contamination, etc. I am planning on giving her a list of mail-order companies
and things like that. I would like to prepare as much food for myself as
possible (every dorm has a kitchenette) but I know that that is not always going
to be easy. Basically I'm just looking for any information you might have
on being a celiac at college. I will be about 4 hours away from home, and my
parents will be bringing and shipping food as much as possible but I will be
living on my own for the first time so I need as much help as I can get!

Thank you so much!
