Thank you to all the great folks that responded to my query on dining in St
Louis. We received some great suggestions - including the location of a
Walmart with a GF section! We are looking forward to this trip and it is
comforting to know we have so many great choices. The responses are listed
below.

Thanks for the help!

St Louis is great for gf! They have Maggiano's that serves gf rolls and a
great pizza place Caito's if you are willing to drive.

We have a restaurant called The Pasta House (they are all over town) and
they have a great GF menu.

There is also The Original Pankcake House in Chesterfield, MO (about 20 min
west of the city) that has fabulous GF pancakes.

The Original Pancake House has GF pancakes and they are good.

PF Chang's and Maggianos are both located, centrally, in Richmond Heights on
The Boulevard (across from St. Louis Galleria)

Nachomamma's gf menu - mexican food that is good for casual lunch or dinner
on Manchester Rd.

Moxy's - sister or sister in law of owner has CD...very gluten free friendly
and a trendy sort of place - located in Central West End

Herbie's - also in Central West End - gf menu - trendy date nite-ish kind of
place

Pi Pizza - three locations in Delmar Loop, Central West End and on
Manchester - really good gf pizza

I'm a former St. Louisan and often get back home to visit friends and
family. One of my absolute favorites is Oceano Bistro
(http://www.oceanobistro.com/). The restaurant is located in Clayton, an
upscale central business district and features a lot of gluten free
selections which are prominantly noted on the menu. I highly recommend the
grilled vegetables appetizer -- I get it every time! Food is great, service
is outstanding and decor is trendy. I always mention to the waiter that I'm
GF and they are very helpful and knowledgable. Their web site includes a
copy of the full menu, which has indications of whether a dish is GF.
Enjoy!

A nice, inexpensive place for lunch downtown is the Soup Man. When I was
there they told me that they always have at least one gluten free choice.

There is also a new market about a block and 1/2 behind the Renaissance
Grand Hotel across from the Convention Center. They have a nice salad bar
(if you're comfortable with a salad bar) where you pay by weight. It is my
favorite lunch spot. I'm so sorry I can't remember the name, but if you're
downtown by the convention center anyone will know what you're asking about
because it's a big natural market.

I don't know about dining, but just in case you can use the info: the
Walmart at South County, the one just before getting on the bridge to
Illinois (sorry I don't know the exit) has a large gluten-free display
section. This info comes via hubby, who says it is a display in the middle
of the bakery isle with all manner of gluten-free products, that it sticks
out into the isle.
