I have had an overwhelming response and a lot of advice. It seems celiacs
are an itchy lot most likely not sensitive to gluten alone. DH can be
present with or without a rash but she is strictly GF and just had the TTG
done last month. The opinion on the Aveeno was mixed with some using it
without a problem and others strongly advising against it. The general
consensus is that it can be a food allergy with fructose and corn high on
the list or perhaps gluten in hair or body wash products. I was advised to
stick to the pure/free types of laundry detergent but that is a bit tough
since my new washer requires the HE (high efficiency brands) so I am looking
for one that is perfume and dye free. I have rewashed clothing and sheets
etc. and now she is starting a food journal. She is using a Johnson Baby
wash (she is 19) for sensitive and dry skin that I found on a GF list and
Cornstarch powder seems to be helping. The lotions, creams and remedies are
too abundant to list however can be summed up by stating ...use a high
quality GF lotion to keep the skin moist. You are all so kind to offer your
help. She had a decent night sleep last night so I am keeping my fingers
crossed.
Bless you all,
Kathy
