Thank you to everyone who responded to my question.

I received several different answers but the following sums up the anwser
that was in the majority.  Hope this helps those of you who asked me to
summarize.  - Carol
" It's not accurate to say that celiacs must avoid gluten; it's
the gliaden in the gluten found in wheat, rye and barley that makes us sick.
But rice and corn both do have gluten; they just don't have the gliaden that
we must avoid. Eat all the rice you wish, in good health."
