They're wrong. The problem is just that many sources of oats are
contaminated by a little bit of wheat, which is a problem for
super-sensitive folk. If you get uncontaminated oats, then you won't have
a problem even if super-sensitive...

Besides, it's easy to substitute rice bran or corn bran in such a recipe.
Or anything else, for that matter. The bran is used to add fiber, you
could do that with legume flours just as well. Or lots of raisins!
