Hi

I received many responses & thank everyone for all the help.

many people responded that they also could not tolerate perkyos, causing them severe diarrhea.

One person thought it might be hidden barley.

one person said they had bought 2 boxes and they were both rancid & had a very strong smell from rancid fats used in the cereal & they had gotten sick from 1 small bowlful. (my box of cereal did have a bad, strong smell to it).

One person thought I couldnot tolerate fiber in my diet if I had been eating only the traditional rice flour blends (I have used sorghum in small amounts in my flour blend).

Several people said sorghum always causes diarrhea when used in any form.

6 people said they always eat it with no problems.

1 celiac lady said she eats it with no problem, but her celiac son can not eat it.

I didn't write to the company, as the helpful responses I've gotten from this listserv were enough to influence me never to buy the cereal again & the company would probably tell me the cereal is fine & I should talk to my doctor. (also a response from another list member).

Mary in MI
