Hello Listserv,

I have a question.  I have only had a couple of accidental gluten reactions since my diagnosis, and they were both different.  I just got back from vacation (I will post a separate e-mail about how that went).  I didn't get sick while on the trip.  On the day I was returning home, I started getting abdominal discomfort.  I can't for the life of me figure out where I may have gotten any gluten.  I was extremely careful about what I ate.  But for a few days I had abdominal discomfort that got increasingly worse, followed by a very bloated tummy, hurt when I walked, followed by a day of diarreah (sorry for the details).  It has been exactly a week now since it started and the discomfort is still there slightly (without the bloat and D).

My questions are:

How can we tell if we are having a gluten reaction or if something else could be going on?

Are your reactions always the same or are they different?

How long do the reactions last?

Sorry if this has been addressed before.  I searched the net and couldn't find any answers to these questions.  Any input from you would be greatly appreciated.  I will summarize.  Thanks in advance!
Denise
