Here is the response I got from Russell Stover
inquiring about GF products. (I also inquired as to
the difference in their suger-free versus low-carb
candies).

Angela Taylor (Tulsa, Oklahoma)
_____________

"Thank you for your interest in Russell Stover
Candies. Our low carb products contain Maltitol
exclusively as a sweetener. Our sugar-free products
uses a blend, which includes Maltitol. Because each of
these products requires the elimination of sugar, it
makes them appear similar.

"By law, we must include the carbs from Maltitol in
the total carbohydrates. However, Maltitol has a low
digestibility that has little, if any, effect on
the body's blood glucose level. As a result,
individuals who are counting carbs can subtract those
due to Maltitol from the total carbs.

"To the best of our knowledge, the only products we
manufacture which may contain gluten are several of
our molded pieces with cookie bits included into the
molded chocolate. This would be clearly indicated on
theingredient label as containing "wheat".

"We hope this answers your questions and allows you to
enjoy an occasional treat of fine candy."
