Greetings, fellow CDers!

I, too, have had light flashes in my peripheral vision! Besides the CD, I
also have insulin dependent diabetes, coronary artery disease, various forms
of neuropathy, and stable background retinopathy. My flashes began about 7
years ago. At the time, my retinologist told me it that it was a benign
condition and would soon go away. He said it was caused from the retina
"tugging" at the back of my eye. It couldn't be predicted whether I was on
the verge of a retinal tear or not. He couldn't "fix something that wasn't
broken" and that I shouldn't worry about it. The flashes have come and gone
and currently "appear" to be in all four corners of each eye. I've come to
accept the explanation given me, notice the flashes, and try not to give it
much thought. After all, they're painless, and I have too many other things
going on in the world to waste time!

Hang in there! I hope you find the same kind of caring eye specialist that
I found and that he/she will put your mind at ease.

Good Luck,
Anita in KC
